Mr. Farrukh Ansari is a seasoned M&A specialist, with more than 24 years of transactional experience across a range of sectors and industries including healthcare & pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, automobiles, power & energy. He began his professional career at Citibank, NA in 1996, gaining valuable experience in the fields of finance & equity management before launching the IJARA Group in 2000. Farrukh introduced IJARA’s M&A division in 2006, with successful execution of numerous transactions in Pakistan and abroad. From modest beginnings, Farrukh has transformed IJARA into a national financial powerhouse with a special position in the healthcare & pharmaceutical sector. He also played a key supporting role to one of Pakistan’s top-10 transnational pharma companies, as an integral part of its journey since its inception to becoming the 10th largest pharma group of Pakistan in a period of 9 years which included acquisition for the group of Organon Pakistan (subsidiary of Akzo Nobel, Netherlands), MSD Pakistan & MSD Srilanka (subsidiary of Merck USA), Schering Plough Pakistan (subsidiary of Schering Plough, USA), AGP & AGP Healthcare (owner of Eli Lilly brands in Pakistan), Johnson & Johnson – Pharma Business (subsidiary of J&J Group, USA). Apart from Farrukh’s expertise in M&A, he has also been the part of certain transactions to turn around the companies from distress level to mainstream companies in its field of operation.
